Brian Craig and Shelley Kuipers are serial entrepreneurs, having spent the largest part of their professional careers in operating roles with early-stage companies. Their focus has shifted to a role of mentorship; providing support for the businesses and the entrepreneurs while shepherding the interests of all shareholders.
Brian Craig
Brian Craig has been an active investor in early-stage businesses for several years, and currently serves on the Board of several small businesses - public, private, energy, technology. Brian is a passionate 'architect' of emerging businesses with the experience, knowledge, and patience to help guide these fragile companies through their early life experiences. The clarity to succeed, the drive to win and the discipline to execute are all attributes of the companies that Brian associates with.
Brian is a former CEO and current Director of publicly traded Solium Capital (SUM: TSX), an emerging leader in the supply of equity-based compensation solutions for global companies. Brian has acquired Board and Audit Committee experience at several businesses he has been involved with, including public and private companies. Brian resides in Calgary.
Shelley Kuipers
Prior to joining the team as president, Ms. Kuipers served on the Board of Directors for Cambrian House. She is currently on secondment from her position as co-founder and president of Material Insight. Her career began in the petroleum sector and her experiences led her to focus on software. Over the years, Shelley has earned the reputation as a business leader who advises software ventures on starting up and scaling their business through strategic financing, talent, practical & scalable operations, product distribution and professional services.
Prior to co-founding Stormworks Inc, a software development and online marketing company that began as a member of the Launchworks group in 2002, Ms. Kuipers led recruiting, consulting and support services for 10 years at Merak Projects, a provider of valuation and management software for the petroleum industry. As an early employee of Merak she went on to recruit 60 per cent of the company's 250 people, a key asset in the valuation that led to its acquisition by Schlumberger in 1999.
